European Network
When my first child was going on 10 years of age, the Trans European Network was created. This took place at the end of the 1980's. There are three main sectors that make up the Trans European Network. These sectors are known as Transports, Energy and Telecommunications. The establishment of TEN helped to promote employment and economic growth. This has been a most important development for creating EU, i.e., European Union. The treaty of Rome (1957) legalized EU and also laid a stronger foundation for the Trans European Network. It is the purpose of EU to help promote the success of TEN. EU ensures the strong relationship of the social and economic elements. This creates a viable interrelationship among national networks and access to those networks.
Following is a discussion of the three sectors, the first being transport network. The transport infrastructure is crucial to the cohesion of the EU. This infrastructure allows for goods and people to circulate freely and easily between the community and international bodies. The Trans European Transport Network integrates the land, sea and air transport components. It includes the necessary technology, information and telecommunications to ensure smooth operations of the network with smooth traffic management.
Next, let us turn to the Trans European Energy Network. The internal energy market in Europe depends heavily upon t the operations of transporting electricity and gas to the member states. TEN-E also promotes diversification of energy supplies to third world countries and the Middle East Other European countries, outside of the European network, are included in the operations process as well.
The third and last subject concerns the Trans European Telecommunications Network. This network promotes the development and success of increasing the operations of secure Internet access. A few benefits of TEN - Telecom is to ensure new job creation by way of strengthening the economic and social elements of the community. In the development of strong Internet telecommunications these objectives can be realized.
The EU has a goal of developing and promoting economic success for its member states. Europe, like the U.S., is in a constant flux of change. This is primarily due to globalization of trade and an ageing population. EU can certainly give ideas to other nations and in the process ensure a world cohesiveness and harmony in the areas of the economy and technology. The Trans European Network is a great new idea that can provide direction not only to third world countries, but to countries like the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
